Blue Point is located on Humalistonkatu in Turku's western city centre - within walking distance of the Market Square, the pedestrian street and the riverside. The street has a surprisingly long history: Humalistonkatu (in Swedish Humlegårdsgatan) is one of Turku's oldest street names, dating back to the 1700s. The name comes from the hop gardens once grown here - in the Middle Ages, law actually required farmers to cultivate hops, used among other things to flavour beer. So you're staying on a street whose name carries a piece of everyday life from centuries-old Turku.
In practice the location is excellent: the main railway station is close by, and the city-centre amenities, restaurants and cafés are just a few minutes' walk away. Blue Point is a great choice when you want to stay in the middle of the city with great transport connections at hand.
