Fabia is located on Annankatu, in the heart of Turku's historic Port Arthur district - known to locals simply as "Portsa." This wooden-house district was built house by house in the early 1900s as homes for working families, and its narrow cobblestone streets and ornate Art Nouveau wooden houses remain among the most beautiful corners of the city. The area got its exotic name from an East Asian port city during the Russo-Japanese War - legend has it a mason, tired of children constantly asking what he was building, declared he was building "a new Port Arthur fortress."

From Fabia you step straight out into Portsa's idyllic wooden-house lanes, and yet Turku's Market Square, the riverside restaurants and the Cathedral are just a few minutes' walk away. You get the best of both worlds: the calm, historic neighbourhood atmosphere and the city-centre amenities, all within walking distance.
